# Disconnect a Social Account

> Remove a connected social account from your workspace

- **URL**: https://orshot.com/docs/api-reference/social-account-disconnect

---

Disconnect a social account. Orshot revokes its own access at the publishing provider first, then removes the account from the workspace and takes it off the owner's bill from the next cycle. Posts scheduled for the account are no longer sent.

The person who connected the account can connect it again later with a new [connect link](https://orshot.com/docs/api-reference/social-connect-session-create) or from the dashboard.

## Endpoint

### DELETE /social/accounts/:id

```markdown tab="Endpoint"
https://api.orshot.com/v1/social/accounts/2291
```

## Request Example

```js
await fetch("https://api.orshot.com/v1/social/accounts/2291", {
  method: "DELETE",
  headers: {
    Authorization: "Bearer <ORSHOT_API_KEY>",
  },
});
```

## Response Example

```json
{
  "data": {
    "success": true,
    "disconnected": true,
    "message": "Disconnected instagram account",
    "account": {
      "id": 2291,
      "platform": "instagram",
      "username": "acme_athens",
      "name": "Acme Athens",
      "external_id": "office_142"
    }
  }
}
```

An account that was already disconnected answers `200` with `"disconnected": false`.
