---

A **render** is a single API call that takes a template and produces an output — an image, PDF, or video. Each render consumes credits from your plan.

When you sign up for Orshot, your plan includes a set number of renders per billing period. Every time you call the API to generate content, the render cost is deducted from your allowance.

Different output types have different render costs. For example, a single image costs 2 renders, while video costs 2 renders per second of output. See [Render Usage](https://orshot.com/docs/definitions/render-usage) for the full breakdown.
