# Approval Flows for Template Automation

## At a glance

- **Nothing unapproved goes out:** renders of a template in review are refused with a 403 that names the stage and who can approve it. No credits are used.

## How it works

1. Create a flow with stages and pick who adds, moves and approves templates in each.
2. New templates join a flow automatically, or only those in a folder or with a tag.
3. Reviewers check every page, comment and decide in the studio. An in-app inbox and email (right away or a daily summary) keep them informed.
4. Once approved, the same API call or automation renders as normal.

Higher Scale tiers add several approvers per stage, approver groups, per-output approval and field limits on approval. Enterprise adds approval actions from your own systems.

## FAQ

### What happens to API renders while a template is in review?

They're refused with a 403 that names the stage and who can approve it. Nothing renders and no credits are used. Once the template is approved, the same call works.

### Does it cover n8n, Make, Zapier and AI agents?

Yes. The check runs on every automated render: the REST API, SDKs, Zapier, Make, n8n, Workflows, Dynamic URLs and agents. Previews and downloads in the studio are never blocked.

### Can clients or legal approve without full access?

Invite them as reviewers. They see the whole workspace or only the flows you pick, comment, and approve where you allow it. They can't touch API keys, renders or billing.

### Can we fix a typo in a template that's already live?

Yes. Approvers, owners and admins can keep it in its approved stage while they edit. Automation renders the approved design until the change is approved.

### Is there a record of who approved what?

Every move, approval, change request and comment is in the template's activity, with the person and time. Scale keeps it for 90 days to a year, depending on the tier.

### Which plans include approval flows?

Scale and Enterprise. Scale includes 3 to 7 flows per workspace depending on the tier, and the higher tiers add multiple approvers per stage and approver groups.
