## How it works

1. Paste a Canva public share URL into the import dialog. Orshot pulls the design, extracts the layers and makes a template.
2. Select a layer, flip Parameterize and give it an ID. Text, images and colors become API parameters; style a layer with dot notation like `headline.color`.

Each template also comes with an importable Make scenario and n8n workflow, and Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT can render it over the Orshot MCP server.

## FAQ

### Does Canva have an autofill API?

Yes. Canva's Connect API includes a Data Autofill endpoint that starts an asynchronous job to fill a Brand Template with your data and return a rendered design. It runs on Canva Enterprise only, fills one Brand Template per job rather than a batch, and is rate limited to 60 requests per minute per user. Orshot does the same job from any Canva share link on any Canva plan, with every layer exposed as an API parameter.

### Is the Canva Autofill API Enterprise-only?

Effectively yes. Canva's docs require the integration to act on behalf of a user who is a member of a Canva Enterprise organization, and a public integration also has to pass Canva's app review. Orshot has no equivalent gate: import a Canva design and the API key you get at signup renders it straight away.

### Is the Canva Autofill API free?

The endpoint has no separate fee, but it requires a Canva Enterprise organization, and Canva does not publish Enterprise pricing. Orshot starts with 100 free credits a month and no card, then paid plans that are listed publicly.

### Can I autofill any Canva design, or only Brand Templates?

Canva's Autofill API only works against Brand Templates with autofillable data fields. Orshot imports any Canva design from a share link and turns its existing layers into parameters, so nothing has to be rebuilt as a Brand Template first.

### How is the Canva Autofill API different from Canva Bulk Create?

Bulk Create is the manual version: you upload a CSV or XLSX in the Canva editor, capped at 300 rows, on desktop only, and not on Canva Free. The Autofill API is the programmatic version, gated to Enterprise. Orshot covers both from one imported design: spreadsheet batches and API calls against the same template.
