Security and data handling

OAuth 2.0, standards-compliant

Authorization code with PKCE and dynamic client registration, per the MCP Authorization spec. Tokens stay in your MCP client; the server does not store them.

Scoped to your workspace

Each connection accesses only the Orshot workspaces of the account that authorized it. Disconnect from your client at any time to end access.

Tool calls only

The server receives tool calls and their inputs, nothing else. It never reads your conversation, files or memory, and it only talks to Orshot's own API.

Annotated, permission-aware tools

Every tool declares read-only or write behavior, and destructive actions like delete and publish are marked so your client asks before running them.

Using Orshot with Claude

Does this work in Claude Code, Claude Desktop and claude.ai?

Yes. Claude Code uses the CLI command, while Claude Desktop and claude.ai add Orshot as a custom connector under Settings → Connectors. All three connect to the same hosted server.

Do I need a paid Claude plan?

Claude Code connects on any Claude access. Custom connectors in Claude Desktop and claude.ai are available on Claude's paid plans.

Can Claude render PDFs and video, not just images?

Yes. Ask Claude to render any Orshot template as a PNG, a multi-page PDF or an MP4, and it returns the hosted links.

Does Claude render from my own templates and brand kit?

Yes. Claude renders from the studio templates in your workspace, and every render inherits your brand kit: fonts, colors and logos.

What are the interactive cards in Claude?

Orshot ships an MCP App, so renders, workflows and social posts appear as interactive cards inside the Claude chat: flip through pages and variants, check run history, or open the result in Orshot with one click. They work in claude.ai and Claude Desktop with no extra setup.

What can Claude do with Orshot once connected?

You can ask Claude in plain language to render images, PDFs and video from your Orshot templates, resize one design to every social format, and publish the result to social. No image infrastructure to build.

Is the Orshot MCP server free to use?

Connecting is free. Renders draw from your Orshot plan, and every account starts with 30 free credits and no credit card.

What data can the Orshot MCP server access?

Only the Orshot workspaces of the account that authorized it, over OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. The server receives tool calls and their inputs, never your conversation or files, and every call goes to Orshot's own API. Disconnect from your client at any time to end access.

How are risky actions like delete or publish handled?

Every tool declares whether it reads or writes, and destructive actions carry an explicit annotation, so MCP clients ask for confirmation before running them. Read-only tools like listing templates can run without a prompt.

Can Claude post to my social accounts?

Yes, once you connect that account in your Orshot dashboard. After it is connected, Claude can draft, schedule or publish to it. Rendering and everything else works without connecting any social account.
