How to link to a page or layer in Orshot Studio
Copy a link that opens a template on a specific page with a specific layer selected, for your team or as a public link
Published Oct 3, 2026
Every page and every layer in a template has its own link. Open it and Studio shows that page with that layer already selected. It's handy for review notes ("the subtitle on page 3 needs a fix"), support replies and handoffs.
1. Copy a link to a layer#
Right-click the layer on the canvas or in the Layers panel, open Copy, then choose Copy link to layer. This works for one layer at a time.
2. Copy a link to a page#
In the Pages panel, right-click the page (or open its menu) and choose Copy link to page.
New templates are saved first
A link needs a saved template. If yours hasn't been saved yet, or has unsaved edits, Studio saves it and then copies the link.
3. Choose who can open it#
- Copy link opens for signed-in members of your workspace.
- Copy public link opens for anyone. It uses the template's public sharing, so if sharing is off Studio asks before turning it on: the whole template becomes viewable by anyone with the link.
Public links open the template in Play Mode, the full editor where nothing a visitor changes is saved. File → Share this template shows whether sharing is On or Off, and you can turn it off there at any time.
4. What happens if the page or layer is deleted later#
The template still opens as usual. Workspace members see a short notice, and public links open without one. On a template you can only view, the link opens the layer's page without selecting it.
Build a link by hand#
You can also add these to any Studio template link yourself:
| Parameter | Value | What it does |
|---|---|---|
pageIndex | Page number, starting at 1 | Opens that page |
pageId | A page's ID | Opens that page. Wins over pageIndex |
layerId | A layer's ID or its dynamic parameter ID | Selects that layer and opens its styles |
layerId alone finds the page that holds the layer. With pageIndex or pageId, the layer is looked up on that page. page3@subtitle names the page and the parameter together, the same key format the render API uses for multi-page templates.
Reserved names
pageIndex, pageId and layerId always mean "open this page or layer". If your template has a dynamic parameter with one of these names, fill it from a link with its page-prefixed key, such as page2@pageIndex=....
