How to choose your approval notifications
Get approval emails right away, in one daily digest or not at all. Follow or mute one template, follow a whole flow, or turn emails off everywhere.

Everything that involves you shows in the Approvals inbox in the top bar, and that's always on. Emails, and how much you hear about each template or flow, are up to you. Only you see these settings.
Get one email a day#

Open your notification settings
Click Preferences in the sidebar, then the Notifications tab. Or click Notification settings at the bottom of the Approvals inbox.

Pick Daily digest
Under Approvals and comments, set Email to Daily digest.

Set your time zone
Pick your Digest time zone. The digest arrives in the morning there.
Choose Right away for one email per action, or Off for no approval emails from this workspace. The setting is per workspace. With Right away, comments that reach you in the same minute come as one email.
To turn approval emails off in every workspace, open Account Settings from the menu under your avatar and switch off Approval and comment emails. In-app notifications stay on.
Follow or mute one template#
Open the template's comments, from the Comments icon on the studio's left rail or the comment count on its board card. Click the bell at the top, Notifications for this template, and pick one:

To hear about everything in a whole flow, ask someone who manages it to give you Follow access on its Access tab.
Reviewers don't see workspace settings. Notification settings in their Approvals inbox opens Account Settings, where the Approval and comment emails switch turns their emails on or off.
Common problems#
| You see | Why, and what to do |
|---|---|
| Email is greyed out: "Approval emails are turned off for your account." | Turn Approval and comment emails back on in Account Settings. |
| No Approvals and comments section on the Notifications tab | The workspace has no approval flow yet. |
| No "Review needed" emails | You may not be an approver in that stage, or Email is on Daily digest or Off. |
| You muted a template and missed a review request | Mute silences everything. Switch it back to Default. |
You never get notified about your own actions.
